Cary C Banks - musician, composer, performer

Cary Banks is a professional musician, award-winning songwriter and television host, and music educator. As a member of the Maines Brothers Band (recording albums on Mercury Records), Cary was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in Lubbock Texas.

Cary has performed in shows with such well known artists Bo Diddley, The Dixie Chicks, Barbara Mandrel, Tom T Hall, Lee Roy Parnell, Joe Ely, Terry Allen, Richie McDonald, Bob Livingston, Radney Foster, Pat Green, Terri Hendrix and many others. As a songwriter Cary won first place in a National Song Contest in Los Angeles, California and has received a Silver Telly Award as featured artist and co-host of Public Broadcasting series “Storytellers & Music Makers”.

Cary has recently released his first book, "Almost like a Professional" My life and career as a West Texas musician , available in paperback and eBook at Amazon Books.

A graduate of Texas Tech University , Cary retired from his position as a Music Instructor and Chairman of the Creative Arts Department at South Plains College in 2016, and now continues to run full throttle in the music world. He is a featured musician on music video series “Jam Along With the Video Band” and “Praise and Worship Guitar” for Texas Music and Video. Cary is a writer and publisher member of ASCAP and continues to produce new music. In 2016, Cary and performing buddy, Steve "Gittar" Williams, produced an album titled "A Couple of Guitar Players Sittin' Around Pickin'" and in 2018, Cary produced an album of piano instrumental songs titled "Piano". His original hits have received extensive radio and internet broadcast.

A lifetime Texas resident, Cary currently resides in Lubbock Texas with wife Carol. His family includes a daughter Katherine,Professor of Political Science at Washington State University  and  son Cody, a professional drummer in the Texas Music Scene), and he proudly claims the name "PaPa" to his beloved grand children.
